Ceramide is a complex lipid found in the upper layer of the skin. It makes up a portion the lipid, which constitute about 40% of the skin's outer layer.
It regulates the rates of moisture loss through the lipid barrier of the skin, restores firmness to the
skin and increase cell cohesion, making cells more uniform and
resistant.
